The Opportunity
This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and expand commercial growth in Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic business development plans, identify new market opportunities, and build trusted partnerships with clients across the biologics and pharmaceutical landscape.

Working as part of a global commercial team, this individual will combine strategic insight, strong relationship-building, and scientific understanding to deliver tangible business results in a competitive and evolving market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic framework to analyze current business performance and identify new market opportunities.

  • Define, set, and track team objectives and revenue goals, managing resources and budgets to maximize sales performance.

  • Lead strategic business development activities — including market scanning, target identification, and alignment with company growth strategy.

  • Gather and interpret market intelligence to inform tactical and operational business plans.

  • Foster a strong cross-functional team mindset across departments, particularly between business development and account management teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomedicine, Pharmacy, Medicine, Chemistry, or Marketing (advanced degree desirable).

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or CDMO industry, with proven business development or commercial success.

  • Strong business communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage confidently across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including contract and proposal writing.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; Japanese proficiency highly desirable.
