The Opportunity

As a senior Commercial leader, this position plays a pivotal role in driving new business growth across biologics development and manufacturing services in China. You’ll engage with biotech and pharmaceutical partners to identify opportunities, build strategic relationships, and deliver tailored solutions that help bring therapies from discovery to market.

This is a highly visible, impact-driven role suited to seasoned technical and commercial leaders with a passion for science and an ability to translate technical capability into customer value. You’ll be representing a world-class CDMO where credibility, responsiveness, and long-term partnership define success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the commercial strategy and framework to assess existing business and identify new market opportunities.

  • Set, manage, and track team objectives and revenue goals, ensuring alignment with company growth plans.

  • Lead strategic business development initiatives — including market scanning, opportunity mapping, target identification, and fit-to-strategy analysis.

  • Provide market intelligence, insights, and leadership to achieve tactical and operational business development goals.

  • Manage and mentor the Business Development team, including performance management, training, and ongoing coaching.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Biomedicine, Pharmacy, Medicine, Chemistry, Medical English, or Marketing.

  • Minimum 18 years of business development experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including at least 5 years in a CDMO environment.

  • Deep understanding of biologics manufacturing, drug development and commercialization processes, and due diligence and asset valuation.

  • Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing business development teams.

  • Strong ability to interpret client requirements and translate them effectively to internal technical and manufacturing teams.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
